作者 Arden Moore 對 'feral cats' 和 'stray cats'的解釋--

feral cats:
those born in the wild who have had little or no interaction with humans
(野生，而且極少或幾乎不曾與人類互動的貓)
作者也提到這些不想被人類收編的貓就是 TNR 的主要對象。

stray cats:
those who have lived with people but have become lost or been discarded
(走失或被棄養的貓)
